On the field, Francisco Lindor enjoyed an excellent year, finishing the regular season batting .273, with 33 home runs and 91 RBIs. Although the Mets began the season slowly, they picked up the pace in the second half of the season, going on to qualify for the postseason after splitting a doubleheader against the Atlanta Braves on the last day of the regular season, en route to their first NLCS appearance since they made it to the World Series in 2015.
Every step of the way, Francisco Lindor was at the heart of the action in both offensive and defensive situations. Once the season was finished, the Puerto Rican's fantastic performances were recognized as he finished second in the NL MVP voting behind Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani.
