Francisco Lindor's wife Katia has been at the forefront of bringing awareness about important societal issues. Last week, the social media industry was turned upside down after the US government declared a ban on TikTok.
The ban took effect on Saturday evening but by Sunday evening, "Thanks to President Donald Trump's effort," the social media platform said, TikTok is set to resume in the US.
Amid this buzz, Katia Lindor brought light to a significant humanitarian issue through her Instagram story on Sunday. Katia juxtaposed a celebratory notification about TikTok's return to the U.S. with a sobering reality: the Trump administration's immigration raids and family separations.
The post, which Katia reshared from "MattXIV," began with a TikTok notification crediting former President Donald Trump for the app's return to U.S. operations. However, it shifted focus to highlight the devastating impact of Trump-era immigration policies, particularly on undocumented communities.
"While Trump takes credit for tiktok's still-uncertain future (which he jeopardized, to begin with), undocumented human beings in Chicago are preparing for raids in their workplaces and homes, as Trump promised to begin mass deportations there on Tuesday morning. Children of immigrants are preparing to be separated from their parents," the post read.
"Keep the bigger picture in focus. unless you have a billion dollars, this man is not your friend."
