Francisco Lindor was a big reason for much of the New York Mets' success this past season. He started 152 games, hitting .273/.344/.500 with 33 home runs and 91 runs batted in.
He carried that success into the postseason. During Game 4 of the NLDS against the Philadelphia Phillies, the slugger took Jeff Hoffman deep for a big-time grand slam.
It was an integral part of the ballgame as New York was down a run at that point. They took the 4-1 lead and never looked back. Lindor's wife, Katia, reminisced on the incredible at-bat on her Instagram.
New York would go on to win the series 3-1 and advance to the NLCS. However, they would run into a juggernaut in the next round.
Francisco Lindor and the Mets were no match for the Dodgers
After taking down the Phillies, Francisco Lindor and the Mets stacked up against the Dodgers. The Dodgers were the team expected to be the last team standing in the postseason, and they did not disappoint.
L.A. took the first game with a brilliant performance from Jack Flaherty on the mound. However, New York evened up the series in Game 2 while losing games 3 and 4 at home.
With their back against the wall in Game 5, the offense exploded, putting up 12 runs. They would go on to win Game 5 and set the series at 3-2 in favor of the Dodgers.
New York was not able to keep up the momentum, losing Game 6, and ending their season. They put up a good fight against a team that went on to win the World Series in dominant fashion. Now, they have their eyes set on making the postseason again in 2025.
