New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor has been one of the most in-form players in the division over the last few months. He has led his team's resurgence after an underwhelming start to the campaign.

Lindor stepped up, not only with his game, but also with his leadership during his team's rut at the start of the season. He reportedly called a players-only meeting on May 29, transforming the attitude in the clubhouse.

Lindor's wife Katia shared a story of the Mets acknowledging the four-time All-Star's leadership qualities. She shared a post from SNYtv with appreciation from Mets pitcher Sean Manaea and manager Carlos Mendoza.

"The consistency, the positivity, he really is like that every day," Manaea was quoted in the post.
The person, the father, the husband, the quality of human he is - this guy is special, man," Mendoza said.

Katia and the Mets shortstop welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2020 ,and the duo married in December 2021. They welcomed their second daughter in June last year.

Francisco Lindor has been a constant feature for the Mets this season, continuing the template from the previous two seasons, featuring in every game so far. With the team chasing a postseason spot, Mendoza is struggling to give rest to his red-hot slugger.

“Trust me, I am trying to give the guy a day,” Mendoza said. “The one thing with him is, he takes care of himself really well. How he eats, the way he gets in the training room and the weight room. He knows what it takes to be able to post every day.”

Francisco Lindor has received MVP chants from the Mets crowd at Citi Field after transforming the fortunes of his team. However, the star shortstop is not taking anything for granted just as yet and feels the job is not finished.

"MVPs are not won in June and July. MVPs are won in August and September. But my job is not done. I haven't done what it takes to win. We haven't won the World Series.
So I don't want to say I've done my job to the ultimate end. I feel like not until the day we win, when I have the opportunity to give the trophy to Steve (Cohen) or Alex (Cohen) and say we did it, the job is not done."

Francisco Lindor extended his hitting streak in the Mets' 8-3 win over the San Diego Padres on Thursday. He had a multi-hit outing for the third consecutive game.
