"Frankly shame on them" - Orioles broadcasters question intent after Yankees' Victor Gonzalez drills Gunnar Henderson following Aaron Judge setback

In Wednesday's game, Yankees reliever Victor Gonzalez stung Gunnar Henderson with a high-rising 94-mph fastball in the seventh inning. This comes a day after Orioles pitchers also stung Yankees hitters and one of them avoided a major injury. The Orioles announcers barely disguised their displeasure and wondered if it may have been intentional.

"But here's what we we can say if the Yankees were thinking about doing something like this, down three and the seventh with the bases empty is the time you might do it. And if they did do it and if they did throw up in and intentionally to Gunner Henderson, frankly shame on them," the announcer said.

On Tuesday, Orioles starter Albert Suarez struck Yankees captain Aaron Judge on the fingers. Such was the blow that manager Aaron Boone had to pull him off the game and send him for imaging at a local hospital. However, the Yankees averted a huge blow when it was revealed that there was no fracture.

In the fifth, Keegan Akin, relief pitcher for the Orioles, threw a fastball at Gleyber Torres on his hand. The moment became tense with the crowd starting to boo and Alex Verdugo throwing expletives from the dugout.

Orioles snatch one back from the Yankees, won the game 7-6

The Orioles eventually won a close game in extra innings. After dropping the first game of the ongoing series, the Orioles hitters came up clutch late in this game to secure a 7-6 victory and leveled the series.

New York Yankees trailed by one run entering the bottom of the ninth inning. Anthony Volpe led off the inning with a double and later scored on Giancarlo Stanton's single to send the game into extra innings.

Up against Clay Holmes, in the top of the 10th inning, Cedric Mullins drove in the automatic runner to take the lead. He later added one more run by scoring on a throwing error by catcher Jose Trevino.

In the first half, Ben Rice hit a sac-fly RBI but that was it as Dillon Tate closed out the game for the Orioles.
