Freddie Freeman's wife Chelsea is going to have to wear multiple hats for a little while. Her husband, the World Series MVP, just underwent successful surgery on his ankle. He sprained it down the stretch of the regular season but didn't miss much time in the playoffs.

She posted a picture of the injured first baseman with his boot on and said:

"Not sure how you hit homers and a grand slam with chipped off bone fragments as big as a nail bed but you did it! Add unexpected surgery to our 2024 list. Time to heal."
Freeman also added that she's gearing up for "mommy, nurse, and elf duty" for the holidays with their kids. Sprained ankles typically do not require surgery, which is why Freeman called it "unexpected."
That is usually a time-healed injury, but because Freeman didn't take time off in the playoffs and because the injury was worse than initially thought, the Los Angeles Dodgers star had to get a procedure.
It is expected that Freeman will be able to participate in baseball activities by the time Spring Training rolls around in February.
Freddie Freeman's wife shares iconic World Series merch drop
Freddie Freeman had one of the most impressive World Series showings this year. Battling an injured ankle, he hit a home run in the first four games of the series. That extended his streak and set the record for most consecutive World Series games with a home run to six dating back to 2021 with the Atlanta Braves.

One such home run, the very first one, was a walk-off Grand Slam with two outs in the bottom of the 10th to send the New York Yankees spiraling to a shocking loss. To celebrate that and other moments, Freeman's wife launched a special merchandise collection.
Shirts, sweatshirts, and more are available now from her personal collection to commemorate her husband's impressive outing. It earned him an MVP award and his name in the record books, and fans can now celebrate that with some clothes and other items.
