Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman and Chelsea have had a difficult past few weeks since the conclusion of the 2024 MLB All-Star week. Their son Maximus suffered from a rare neurological disorder known as Guillain-Barre syndrome.
Freeman was relieved of his duty with the Dodgers to take care of his family during this unforeseen medical emergency. He made a comeback to the roster during Monday's Game 1 of the three-game series against the Phillies. During Game 2 on Tuesday night, Freddie reached another career milestone in the MLB as he registered his 500th career double in the big leagues.
Chelsea Freeman celebrated the historic feat by sharing a story on her Instagram account with the caption:
"500 doubles!"
Freddie Freeman received a standing ovation inside Dodger Stadium during his first at-bat in his first game after rejoining the Dodgers roster on Monday. He has been a delightful presence at the plate for the ballclub, which currently leads the NL West.
His wife and family have showcased tremendous support amidst the ongoing family health emergency. The entire baseball nation has been pouring in love and sending prayers for Max's quick recovery from the rare neurological syndrome.
