It's been a difficult time for Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Freddie Freeman and his family as his son Max has spent more than a week in the ICU. He was being treated for a neurological disorder called Guillain-Barre syndrome, but now he has returned home with his family.
Chelsea and Freddie Freeman took to social media on Sunday to announce that while their son had a long-road ahead of him, he has taken a major step in his recovery. The All-Star first baseman has been out of the Dodgers lineup since the end of July to be with his family during this difficult time, but it appears that with Max returning home, Freddie could soon be back on the field.

According to MLB insider Jon Morosi, Freeman is expected to return to the Dodgers lineup for Monday's National League showdown with the Philadelphia Phillies. Morosi said that after the good news that Max is finally home, Freeman will be back in the lineup for the first time since July 25.
As Freeman has been away from the team for important reasons, his impending return to the lineup comes at an important time for the Dodgers. Los Angeles sits atop the NL West, however, it has posted a 4-6 record over their last 10 games, which makes the return of one of the league's best players essential.
The eight-time All-Star has been a force at the dish yet again for the Dodgers this year, and will undoubtedly make an instant impact on Monday night. Having Freddie Freeman back in the lineup next to Shohei Ohtani should be enough to get Dodgers fans hyped for the pivotal matchup.
Freddie Freeman is not the only Dodgers star making his way back to the lineup
While the impending return of Freeman is massive for the Dodgers, he is not the only former MVP who could be back in the fold. Mookie Betts has continued to ramp up his activity as he works his way back from a fractured left hand that he suffered in June.

The team is hopeful that Mookie Betts can return to the lineup as soon as the Dodgers' next road trip next week. Los Angeles will make its way to Milwaukee to take on Brewers on Monday 12 before moving on to St. Louis for a battle with the Cardinals. Both series will have major playoff implications surrounding them, so having both Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman in the lineup could be crucial.
