Gavin Lux will play for another team in 2025 after playing with the LA Dodgers for six years. On Tuesday, the infielder was traded to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for Mike Sirota and a Competitive Balance Round A draft pick, around No. 37.

His fiancee Molly O'Boyle made attachments with several of fellow Dodgers teammates' wives and girlfriends. The trade announcement had several of them giving their best to the couple headed to Cincinnati.

On Wednesday, one day after the trade was reported, O'Boyle shared a farewell message for their time in LA.

"Thank you LA for being our home away from home💙 Forever thankful for the endless laughs & incredible memories made with friends that became family," she wrote in caption.

She also spoke about the new destination, Cincinnati.

"So excited for our new chapter in Cincinnati! @reds, you have a whole new fan club coming your way from Wisconsin😉❤️" she added.

The photo was accompanied by several photos, including the one where the couple posed alongside the World Series trophy.

Dodgers catcher Will Smith's wife Cara reacted:

"LOVE YOU!!! 😭🤍"

Starting pitcher Bobby Miller's partner Natalie Loureda reacted:

"They’re so lucky to have you 😭😭🥹 I’ll miss you like crazy."

Gavin Lux's reaction on learning the trade from Dodgers to Reds

Gavin Lux and his fiancee Molly O'Boyle were in Wisconsin celebrating their grandfather's 91st birthday when they learned about the trade Monday. Even though the trade was around the corner, it shocked Lux.

"It’s initially a little bit of a shock," Lux said on Tuesday. "That’s a big deal, a lot going on, but we just said, ‘Whatever, we’re going to enjoy the night and celebrate his birthday and go from there.’ We just kept on going."

It comes on the heels of the Dodgers signing Korean infielder Hyeseong Kim on Friday to a three-year, $12.5 million deal. With so much depth around the position, the Dodgers traded away Gvin Lux for prospects.
