He was scheduled to start against the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. But later Cole was scratched off the lineup due to body fatigue, and the club brought in Will Warren to make his MLB debut.

According to the Yankees clubhouse reporter Meredith Marakovits, Cole hasn't reported any issues after throwing and is expected to throw a bullpen tomorrow. If all goes as planned, the six-time All-Star will start against the Blue Jays on Friday at Yankee Stadium.

Cole has had a rough start to this season. He suffered elbow inflammation and edema during spring training and was placed on the 60-day IL. He made his season debut at the beginning of June.

Since making his season debut, the veteran starter has made seven starts for his side with a 3-2 record, an ERA of 5.40, a WHIP of 1.46 and 38 strikeouts.

Gerrit Cole upset with Yankees' recent Subway Series loss against New York Mets

"This is a tough loss for us tonight. We're definitely sitting in it right now, not happy about it. When it's all said and done, we've got to flush it and get ready for tomorrow, because tomorrow is really important. Actually, we have an off day tomorrow. So the next game is really important. We need to be in as good a spot as we can to be able to perform for that"

"I'm frustrated. I'm frustrated sitting in the emotions of this loss. But our job is to flush it and not let the play of the last six weeks affect the way we prepare for the next game."

Cole wasn't at his A-game during the game last Wednesday. He pitched 5.2 innings, had an ERA of 9.53, conceding eight hits, six earned runs and three home runs.
