Gerrit Cole's wife Amy comes from a baseball family. She is the sister of former San Francisco Giants and recently retired infielder Brandon Crawford and former UCLA Bruins softball player Jenna Crawford. The sisters have a nine-year difference in age.
On Sunday, Amy shared a throwback photo with her "little sis" Jenna, celebrating her birthday with a special message. In the photo, they both wore sleeveless red tops.
"Happy birthday to my baby sis!" Amy wrote. "I love you so much Jenna."
The sisters also shared the softball field once when they appeared in an alumni game in 2016.
Never thought I'd get a chance to play against @jennacrawford who is 9 years younger than me! This alumni game was a little extra special. #23 & #7," Amy captioned.
Amy wore the No. 23 jersey while Jenna wore the No. 7 jersey.
Gerrit Cole's wife Amy shared special message to brother Brandon Crawford's retirement
Brandon Crawford hung his baseball cleats up after 14 years in MLB, most notably with the San Francisco Giants where he won two World Series titles.
The three-time All-Star announced his decision on Nov. 28 through an Instagram post.
"During this time of the year, I am constantly being reminded of the things in my life that I am most thankful for. Baseball is one of them," Crawford wrote. "Baseball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and for the rest of my life I will be thankful for the opportunities and experiences it has given me.
"Time is precious. I'm incredibly grateful for all the years I spent playing the game I love, but now it is time for me to spend it with the people who I'm most thankful for. Thank you to all of you who have been there for me throughout the years. It's been an unbelievable ride," Crawford wrote.
Shortly after, Brandon's sister Amy shared a farewell post, acknowledging the four-time Gold Glove winner's incredible career in the majors.
"From t-ball and backyard games to chasing big-league dreams, it’s been an honor to watch you play the game you love. Proud of you, @therealbcraw35- congrats on an incredible career!" Amy wrote.
Brandon Crawford signed a one-year $2 million deal for the 2024 season with the St. Louis Cardinals. He hit .169 with a homer and four RBIs over 80 plate appearances before being released by the club in August.
The Giants will honor their former star on Apr. 26 at Oracle Park.
