Mike Trout, widely regarded as one of the best players in Major League Baseball (MLB) history, has had a lack of postseason success. Trout has spent his entire career with the Los Angeles Angels, but despite his individual accolades, the team has failed to make the playoffs in all but one of his 12 full seasons in the league.

Trout's sole playoff appearance came in 2014, when the Angels won the American League West division with a 98-64 record. Trout was a major factor in the team's success that season, batting .287 with 36 home runs, 111 runs batted in (RBI) and 16 stolen bases. He won the AL Most Valuable Player (MVP) vote that year and went on to win the accolade again in 2016 and 2019.

Since that season, the Angels have failed to make the playoffs, despite Trout's continued dominance. The Angels have not won a playoff game since 2009, when they were swept by the Boston Red Sox in the AL Division Series.

Mike Trout's lack of postseason success could tarnish his legacy

Despite Mike Trout's incredible performances, the Los Angeles Angels have been unable to build a winning team around him.

The team has made several high-profile signings in recent years, including drafting in pitcher Shohei Ohtani and third baseman Anthony Rendon, but those acquisitions have not been helped lift the team into postseason contention.

Trout's lack of postseason success has become a source of frustration for both him and Angels fans. He's widely considered one of the best players of all time, but his legacy may be tarnished if he's unable to win a World Series title or even make the playoffs in the later half of his career.
