Aidan Miller, who was drafted 27th overall by the Philadelphia Phillies in 2023, is being looked up as their next third baseman in the near future. The Trinity, Florida, native is tabbed as the No. 1 prospect for the club and is ranked 26th on MLB's Top 100 prospects list.

During Thursday's appearance on "The Phillies Show", former Mets and Red Sox coach Ruben Amaro Jr. hailed him to be the next Alex Bregman of the Phillies. Bregman, a two-time World Series champion, is a free agent, with rumors suggesting that the club could sign him this offseason.

"He could be their Alex Bregman. He could be their Alex Bregman—that's who I view him as. That would be my comp. If he becomes the player that people think he can become, he could be that guy," Amaro said (30:50 onwards).

Ruben said "Amen," declining the potential move of trading Aidan Miller out for Nolan Arenado.

Phillies top prospect Aidan Miller coming up well in minors

The expected arrival of Aidan Miller is expected to arrive in 2027 as the right-handed hitter continues to mold his skill in the minors. The 20-year-old shortstop out of J.W. Mitchell High School is a right-handed hitter and thrower, standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 205 lbs.

Miller debuted with two teams in 2023. Splitting time between the FCL Phillies (rookie-level) and Clearwater Threshers (Single-A), he posted a combined slash line of .303/.425/.379 with a solid .804 OPS in 80 plate appearances across 20 games.

In his first full professional season, Miller showcased his development across three levels: Clearwater (A), Jersey Shore (A+) and Reading (AA). Over 462 plate appearances, he compiled a strong .261/.366/.446 slash line with 28 doubles, six triples and 11 home runs, accompanied by 60 RBIs and a solid .812 OPS.

Through 122 minor league games, Miller has accumulated .267/.375/.436 with an impressive .811 OPS, 31 doubles, seven triples, 11 home runs and 62 RBIs. He has demonstrated plate discipline with 68 walks to 115 strikeouts and flashed speed with 27 stolen bases.

He still need few years down under before Phillies front office gives him a call-up.
