Former MLB slugger Jose Canseco remains a polarizing figure in the baseball community, predominantly because of his history of PED usage and penchant of stirring controversy.

Canseco has never been a big fan of fellow MLB star and New York Yankees icon Alex Rodriguez. The former Oakland Athletics star took another shot at three-time MVP Rodriguez with a pointed remark on X, formerly Twitter.

A former MVP himself, Canseco reshared a video of Alex Rodriguez displaying the mechanics of hitting a baseball and the common swinging mistakes from hitters. Canseco poked fun at the former World Series winner, tweeting:

"He forgot to mention the weekly injections."

Jose Canseco, who admitted to PED usage in his book 'Juiced: Wild Times, Rampant 'Roids, Smash Hits & How Baseball Got Big,' alleged A-Rod of doing the same during his career.

In his other book 'Vindicated: Big Names, Big Liars, and the Battle to Save Baseball,' Canseco claimed that he introduced Alex Rodriguez to a supplier of steroids. Rodriguez dismissed Canseco's claims at the time.

The controversy surrounding Rodriguez's involvement in the Biogenesis scandal in 2013 and his subsequent suspension over alleged PED usage has pretty much damaged the 14-time All-Star's legacy.

Jose Canseco congratulated Shohei Ohtani for joining 40-40 club

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani joined the 40-40 club (40 home runs and 40 stolen bases) after his dramatic walk-off grand slam against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday.

Ohtani became the first Dodger and sixth MLB player to achieve the feat. Jose Canseco was the first player to achieve the milestone in 1988, the same year he won his maiden AL MVP award.

"Congratulations to Shohei Ohtani for joining the 40/40 club," Canseco wrote on Friday.

MLB's home run king Barry Bonds joined Canseco in the club in 1996, and Alex Rodriguez followed suit a couple of years later with the Mariners. Alfonso Soriano took the least games to register the feat in 2006 and was joined by the Atlanta Braves' Ronald Acuna Jr. on the elite list last year.

However, Ohtani carved his own legacy, becoming the fastest to reach the feat among the six sluggers. He reached the landmark in just 126 games, breaking Soriano's record of 147 games.
