Los Angeles Dodger manager Dave Robert was 'impressed' by Shohei Ohtani's hitting prowess in their 9-6 victory against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday, July 21. This was the team's third consecutive win after the All-Star break.

In the fifth inning of Sunday's game, Ohtani hit a huge 473-ft. dinger to Kutter Crowford and became the first NL star to reach 30 home runs this season. The ball traveled a long distance but didn't go out of the ballpark.

During the post-game interview, Dave Roberts talked about Ohtani's hit. The manager said he was amazed by the star as he never failed to amaze him.

"Gosh, man, he just never ceases to amaze. You just look at how far that ball went and how hot it came off the bat. It’s just hard to fathom somebody hitting the baseball like that. He did say he got all of it," Roberts said.
"That’s where people just don’t go. Just really impressive. I mean, he just does things it seems like every night that people just can’t do,” he added.

Ohtani's moonshot is the second-biggest home run ever hit at Dodger Stadium in the Statcast era. Back on May 12, 2015, Giancarlo Stanton hit a 475 ft. homer which did leave the arena.

Shohei Ohtani 'optimistic' about hitting dinger out of Dodgers Stadium someday after his 473 ft. moonshot

During the post-game interview, Shohei Ohtani said he was optimistic about crushing a homerun outside the Dodgers Stadium one day.

"That's what I hope, and I think I'm going to have a lot more opportunities to do so, so I'm definitely looking forward to one of those." he said.

The Japanese star has a 10-year $700 million contract with the club and in that time, he is expected to play almost a thousand games, leaving him with ample chances to hit it out of the park.

The four-time all-star is leading the NL Homerun race with 30 home runs already. This season he is hitting .315, with an OPS of 1.039 and 70 RBIs.
