Los Angeles Dodgers stars Mookie Betts and Jack Flaherty sat down for a chat on Sunday's episode of "On Base." Talking about topics from the USA Basketball team at the Olympics to the Kendrick Lamar- Drake beef, the pair also talked about fashion.
On episode 28 of the show hosted by Betts, the pair named the best-dressed big leaguers. (45:00)
"I'm going to put myself up there" Flaherty said.
"Jazz (Chisholm Jr.) got some swag, Lindor, Willy Adames got some swag. I would say the latin community as a whole has swag. They really are slept on." Betts added.
Further, Flaherty talked about former Detroit Tigers teammate Kenta Maeda also having good style. Betts chimed in, likening the Dodgers' Japanese starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto to media personality Kim Kardashian. (46:00)
"You wanna know someone who does (have good style)? Kenta Maeda" Flaherty said.
"That makes sense, because Yoshi does. He knows how to dress and his man-purse game is second to none. He is probably the Kim K of MLB." Betts added
Dodgers lose to Diamondbacks; Yamamoto makes first rehab start
The Dodgers lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 14-3 in Game 3 of the four-game series at Chase Field on Sunday. After winning the opening two games, a win in this one would have sealed a series victory for the visitors. As it stands, the hosts still have a chance to share the spoils with a win in Monday's final game.
Starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto made significant progress towards his return to the mound as he made his first rehab start for triple-A Oklahoma City. Yamamoto last played a major league game on June 15 against the Kansas City Royals. The 26-year-old was an integral part of their pitching rotation before being struck down by injury and the Dodgers will be hoping for his return with October baseball looming.
Next, the Los Angeles outfit takes on the Diamondbacks in the series finale on Monday, hoping to make it five series wins in a row with a win and extending their lead in the NL West.
