The Cincinnati Reds have placed All-Star pitcher Hunter Greene on a 15-day IL due to right elbow soreness on Saturday. However, the team hasn't made a corresponding move for him.

Greene had a dominant performance during his last start. He had four hits, one run and one walk in seven innings while striking out eight hitters. Following the outing, he felt this soreness.

Fans were upset by the news as Greene was in great shape for most of this season. Many were skeptical if the Reds' staff would handle him in this situation or if he had to undergo his second Tommy John surgery.

"He probably puked hearing this," one fan tweeted on X, formerly Twitter.
"Knowing the Reds luck he’s getting Tommy John again," another fan tweeted.
"It's the Reds medical staff. What could possibly go wrong," another fan tweeted.
"They don’t do MRIs well. Ask CES"- Another fan wrote
"Maybe they can scan his stomach too."- Another fan wrote
"Hopefully the Reds didn’t ruin another pitcher."- Another fan wrote
"It’s the reds so on Tuesday we will find out he had season ending surgery on Monday."- Another fan wrote

Before this injury, Greene started 24 games for the Reds this season, with a 9-4 record, an ERA of 2.83, 1.02 WHIP and 162 strikeouts.

David Bell shares update on Hunter Greene's condition following his move to 15-day IL

During Saturday's postgame interview, Reds manager David Bell gave positive updates on Hunter Greene's condition after being put on a 15-day IL due to right elbow soreness. According to journalist Charlie Goldsmith:

"David Bell said it’s too early to say anything definitive on Hunter Greene. But initially, the MRI looked good. There’s a lot of hope he could return when he’s eligible."

The Reds are already short of starters with Graham Ashcraft, Brandon Williamson, Connor Phillips and Lyon Richardson sidelined due to injury. With Greene also unavailable, the team needs to add another starter to the roster to fill his spot for its clash on Monday.
