MLB analysts Ben Ennis, Kevin Barker and Tim Kurkjian talked about the Toronto Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s career in the latest episode of Blair and Barker on the Sportsnet YouTube channel.
Kurkjian talked about how Vladdy's performance at 25 surpasses all the others who have played for his team in the past (32:16).
"We've seen how good he's been lately. He's having a very good seasaon. He's got 150 homers. The only other Blue Jay that has every come close is Fred McGriff who had 90 homers. That's how far ahead Vlad Guerrero Jr. is when it comes to hitting it outta the ball park," Kurkjian said.
Asked whether the Toronto side should extend Guerrero Jr.'s contract, despite there being many that disagree, Tim said (32:56):
"I think they should sign Vladdy. Maybe he's not a superstar, but he's really good. I think he's starting to find it again. At that age, with this kind of track record, and he also wants to stay from what I can tell, it's a good thing."
Vladdy made his debut for the Blue Jays in April 2019, aged 20. Guerrero Jr. has been in fine form this season, batting .320, fourth in the MLB, along with 24 home runs this season.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. homered in the victory.
Toronto will look to potentially sweep their hosts on Wednesday in the final game of the series before heading to Wrigley Field to face the Chicago Cubs.
