There is no debate that Bryce Harper is one of the best players of his generation. Although Harper has yet to secure a World Series title, the hard-hitting outfielder-turned-first baseman has crossed off nearly every milestone possible.

After coming into the league with the expectation of being a generational talent, Harper was already guaranteed to have his fair share of detractors. In his younger days, Harper was brash and perhaps a bit immature. However, following his high-profile move to the Philadelphia Phillies, Harper has grown into one of the most celebrated players.

This is something that Phillies legend Chase Utley has acknowledged about the two-time MVP.

"I definitely respected what he did, he played hard," Utley said of Harper on an episode of the 6-1-1 Podcast.
"My first question was when I saw him sign with the Phillies [in 2019], 'Is he going to be able to keep that up? Is he going to be able to keep that pace up?' It's been amazing, but he has. He's not getting any younger, but he's still that same player. He recognizes the fanbase and how special they are, he's still emotional, he shows that grit. ... He’s got the Phillie Phanatic on his shoes of all things."

Bryce Harper and the Phillies will look to finally secure a World Series ring

Although Harper has become a fan favorite and the face of the Phillies franchise, the superstar has not yet been able to bring a World Series title back to the city. That being said, they have been close. The Phillies made it to the World Series in 2022, ultimately falling to the Houston Astros, before making the NLCS last season.

This year's club might be the strongest one yet and will be looking to make it over the hump. The Phillies have been arguably the strongest and most complete ball club all year. However, they will have to slay a few dragons before reaching that goal. Could this be the year that Bryce Harper finally wins the last game of the season?
