Fans reacted as KBO superstar Hyeseong Kim is on his to MLB after being posted by his parent club, the Kiwoom Heroes. Kim is one of the brightest stars in the Korean League and will have ample time acclimating to the majors, being just 25.

MLB fans on Instagram and X couldn't hide their excitement for the highly touted middle infielder, with many trying to lure Kim to their teams.

"Hyeseong Kim is ready for the Dodgers," a fan wrote.
"Should go the Padres," another predicted.
"Hyeseong Angels Kim," a fan proclaimed.

Fans on X also chimed in on the action regarding Kim's posting.

"A Milwaukee Brewer," one fan exclaimed.
"Ready to be a Detroit Tiger?" a fan asked.
"Ironically he’s a Pirate," one fan boasted.

The righty posted a .326/.383/.458 slash line with an OPS of .841 with 11 home runs and 75 runs during his last year with the Kiwoom Heroes. Known largely as a contact hitter, Kim leaves Korea with a .304 batting average and 591 base hits with 211 stolen bases in 953 games.

The 25-year-old won the KBO Golden Glove Award, given to the league's best players (contrary to the MLB's fielders). In 2021, he led the KBO League in stolen bases.


Hyeseong Kim: A new Korean star to MLB

Kiwoom Heroes cornerstone Hyeseong Kim is the latest addition to the growing list of Korean stars who will grace the MLB stage. The 25-year-old star is US-bound after going through the league's posting system.

There are rumors that Kim might be reunited with former Kiwoom teammate and Padres All-Star Ha-Seong Kim, provided Kim re-signs with San Diego.

Ji-hwan Bae is one of the names who made some noise with his stable play for the Pittsburgh Pirates for two years. "The Grandson of the Wind" Jung-hoo Lee was having a productive season with San Francisco before a season-ending injury.

Ji-Man Choi, who was renowned for his time in Tampa Bay, was one of the rare breed of Korean power hitters to appear in the MLB. Rob Refsnyder who was born in South Korea, has been a reliable hand for teams he has played for.

Finally, one shouldn't forget that Los Angeles Dodger and super utilityman Tommy Edman is of Korean descent through her mother and suited up for Team Korea in the 2023 World Baseball Classic.
