"I don't have 52 home runs, I need those" - When Francisco Lindor joked with Aaron Judge after ALDS home run robbery

During the 2017 season, Aaron Judge and Francisco Lindor faced off in the postseason. The then-Cleveland Indians found themselves in the ALDS against an always-tough New York Yankees squad.

During Game 3 of the series, Lindor walked up to the plate during a 0-0 game in the sixth inning. He proceeded to send a missile out to right field, but Judge leaped above the wall and robbed him of a home run.

At first, Lindor did not think he got enough of the baseball for it to have a chance. But then he saw it started to carry and got his hopes up, just to be denied at the very end.

"I just hit it off the end. It was pitched low and away and I didn't think I had it. For a second, I was like, 'Popped up,' but then it was carrying a little and that's when you start hoping," said Lindor.

It was an excellent play by Judge, who did not have to jump too high to bring the ball back. Being one of the tallest outfielders in the game comes with its perks.

After the game, Lindor scoped Judge out to have some words with him. He was not too thrilled that Judge, the man who finished the regular season with 52 home runs, robbed him.

"I told [Aaron Judge], 'I don't have 52 home runs, I need those.' He said that I already got one in the postseason, so that was enough" said Lindor.

Fast forward seven years later and Francisco Lindor is now a star for the New York Mets. He came over ahead of the 2021 season alongside Carlos Carrasco in exchange for Amed Rosario, Andres Gimenez, Josh Wolf, and Isaiah Greene.

This past season, he again found himself in the postseason with Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees on the other side of the bracket. Both teams cruised through the divisional rounds, but the Mets would have trouble in the NLCS.

They matched up against the Los Angeles Dodgers and lost the series 4-2. The Yankees proceeded to beat the Cleveland Guardians 4-1, making it to the World Series.

Once again, Lindor watched Judge and his squad make it deeper into the postseason. However, with the Mets' offseason so far, that could be a thing of the past.
