New York Yankees fans were subjected to a harsh reality check as the Bronx Bombers lost against MLB's worst team this season, the Chicago White Sox. The Bronx Bombers arrived in Chicago with hopes of continuing their momentum after clinching the previous series against the Texas Rangers.

However, the Yankees were brought were left shell-shocked after the White Sox put together a series of impressive at-bats in their best offensive display of the season.

The White Sox scored a season-high 12 runs in front of a jubilant Chicago crowd who witnessed their team register their first win under interim manager Grady Sizemore.

MLB fans saw the funny side of things, poking fun at the Yankees after their surprising loss.

"There's losing, and then there's THIS kind of losing. I actually feel bad for Yankees fans tonight lol."
"Yankees fans told me they are better than the Dodgers," mocked a fan.
Imagine losing to the white Sox. The Red Sox are really the superior team in the rivalry," wrote another fan.

Meanwhile, several fans couldn't believe the White Sox's one-sided victory over the AL East contender.

"If the O’s don’t win the division because of this they should be ashamed of themselves," wrote another fan.
"That must be so embarrassing for the Yankees," chimed in a fan.

Aaron Judge credits White Sox on win, Yankees sweating on Jazz Chisholm Jr.

The White Sox fired manager Pedro Grifol after the team's horrendous run this season. However, they have shown signs of life under the interim manager with a new coaching staff.

While the Yankees' surprising loss invited mockery from fans, manager Aaron Boone credited the White Sox.

“Most of us have been around long enough to know that every night you set foot on a big league diamond, you’re capable of losing, you’re capable of winning,” manager Aaron Boone said.

While the defeat was damaging enough, the Yankees lost the in-form Jazz Chisholm Jr. early in the seventh inning of the game to an apparent elbow injury. The star slugger will undergo further tests to determine the extent of the injury.
