On Monday, Teoscar Hernandez competed in his first-ever Home Run Derby. While some could struggle with no experience and the whole world watching, Hernandez did not.

He was hitting home runs left and right and got to the final round with Kansas City Royals slugger Bobby Witt Jr. Hernandez had the juice to outlast Witt and take home the hardware.

This was something that the Hernandez family was expecting, especially Teoscar's wife, Jessica. She spoke with MLB Network on the Red Carpet, telling the world how much she believes in her husband.

"I always bet on him, I know he can do anything he sets his mind to do," Jessica said.

That is the type of partner you need to have in your corner, especially as an athlete. Things are not always easy, and you need that person who will give you the confidence you need.

Hernandez became the first Los Angeles Dodgers player to win a Home Run Derby after his monumental performance on Monday. That is not bad for being a rookie at the event, and he will likely be back next year to defend his title.

Teoscar Hernandez and his family spoke with MLB Network on the Red Carpet ahead of the All-Star Game. He was asked what it means to be an ASG participant.

"It's incredible. Just to be part of this, it's amazing, but to start in the starting nine is even better. So, I'm really happy and thank God for the oppurtunity for everything he has given me," Hernandez said.

To even stand out on a team like the Dodgers is incredible. They have a loaded roster where it is easy for many players to become obscure. However, ever since changing scenery, Hernandez has been spectacular.

Through 95 games, he has hit .261/.327/.475 with 19 home runs and 62 runs batted in. He is on pace to have his best season in the big leagues by far, leading to his second All-Star Game selection.

While he put the world on check on Tuesday, he has been slugging all season long in Los Angeles. Acquiring Hernandez in the offseason looks more and more like the best deal that has gone down, which is surprising.
