Trevor Bauer details goals in Mexico as MLB return hopes linger

Though Trevor Bauer would one day like to be back in the MLB, he is biding his time in the Mexican Baseball League. He's pitching well and hoping to showcase his talents to any MLB teams watching. Thus far, he's been unsuccessful, but his pitching has accomplished one thing: Statistically, he's one of the best pitchers in the LMB.

He is among the league leaders in a wide variety of categories per the pitcher himself, and he has a goal for himself while he's in Mexico. It will take a lot of effort, but the former All-Star wants to win the Triple Crown.

Bauer just set an LMB record with 19 strikeouts in a game. He was asked what other records he might want to set while he's at it:

"I love my strikeouts, so getting the strikeout record was the main one I was going after. Personally, I'd like to win the Triple Crown. I know that's been done before, but it hasn't been done in a while, so I'm going after that."

The Triple Crown for pitchers involves leading the league in wins, ERA and strikeouts. Bauer is well on his way to that after the 19-K performance.

Trevor Bauer has big goals for Mexican stint

Trevor Bauer does not lack confidence. The pitcher said a few months ago that he believes there isn't one MLB team that has three pitchers better than him. Now, he has lofty goals to achieve in Mexico, which he thinks his talent can back up.

Aside from winning the Triple Crown, the former Los Angeles Dodgers star said he'd like to break the Diablos' single-season ERA record. He also said:

"Really, on the team side, it's the championship. I want to win. I've never won a championship in my career. I won a couple in the minor leagues and it's a great experience, but not in the big leagues of any of the leagues. I want to win."

Bauer has a few high individual goals this year, but he's also interested in bringing the ultimate trophy to the Diablos. After initially signing for just five games, Trevor Bauer wants to see this through to the end.
