Coming fresh off the NCAA Men's College World Series victory, Christian Moore was drafted 8th overall by the Los Angeles Angels in Sunday's MLB Draft. Moore was present at the venue, which wasn't the case with some of the other top picks.

When commissioner Rob Manfred announced his name, he went up to the stage and was interviewed by Xavier Scruggs of the MLB Network, paying homage to his coach and his parents.

"I just want to shout out my family, you know, they over there, down there, you know, coming all the way from New York, and a shout out, you know, to my teammates, and of course, the GOAT sitting over there, Tony Vitello, much love to you, thank you for everything," Moore said.

Moore delivered one of his best performances in the history of the Tennessee Volunteers. The 21-year-old hit 34 homers which broke the program record, and has also marked 61 home runs in his career record. While he was uncertain about what the future holds for him, Moore made a bold statement about his aspirations.

"I'm a winner, I'm a competitor, so I don't know what's going to happen the next couple of years, but I promise you, I'll get a ring, for sure, it's in my blood," Moore declared.

The Tennessee Volunteers faced a crucial game three against conference rivals Kentucky on April 21st. The series hung in the balance, tied 1-1, and the pressure was palpable. However, Christian Moore delivered a performance that marked his name in the Tenessee Volunteers' history.

Moore defied expectations and rose to the occasion. The Vols coach Vitello had already predicted such a feat for Moore.

"I've never been around a guy who can decide he wants to win a game and impact it the way he did," Vitello said. "In order to win the SEC this year, we were going to have to beat Kentucky, a great club. We were 1-1 going into Game 3 against them and he literally took over the game."

Before his remarkable three-homer performance, he'd quietly built a steady track record as an offensive player. As a sophomore, Christian Moore hit a solid .304 with 17 home runs and 50 RBIs. He was also a consistent player as a freshman last season.
