Trevor Bauer returned to action for his team after he reportedly contracted cholera last month. The former National Cy Young Award winner is currently playing for Diablos Rojos del Mexico in the Mexican League.

Bauer has not played in the MLB since 2021, when he was banned for two seasons over allegations of sexual assault. Although the legal proceedings were settled and the suspension has been served, Bauer could not get any MLB team to approach him with an offer during this trade deadline, even though he was willing to play on a minimum-wage contract.

On Monday, Trevor Bauer took the mound for the Diablos Rojos as they secured their berth into the next round of the playoffs in the Mexican League. After the game, Bauer gave an interview in which he talked about his recent illness. He said he went through a couple of weeks that were quite scary for him, but he is back in full health after making a swift recovery after treatment for the disease in Arizona.

However, Lindsey Hill, the woman who had pressed the sexual assault charges against Trevor Bauer, did not feel sympathetic toward the pitcher. Hill regularly posts comments on her social media profiles deriding Bauer, and she offered several in response to his comments in the interview.

"If he wants to tweet about being a victim so bad- I’m forced to bring up the poop water," one of Hill's posts on X read.

Cholera is a diarrheal illness that can be potentially fatal for a human being within 24 hours if left untreated. A dire lack of sanitation and contaminated water are the primary reasons for the disease.

Trevor Bauer marked his return to the mound by announcing the release of a new line of T-shirts from his clothing brand. In her post, Lindsey Hill was referring to one particular item in the collection, which has led some people to believe it contains a controversial message that has been incorporated subtly into the design.

This T-shirt commemorates the 19 strikeouts that Trevor Bauer recorded in June to set the Mexican League record for a single game. Nineteen K's are printed in white on the front of a red-colored T-shirt to signify his achievement. However, the first three K's are separated from the rest with an icon, leading a few people to question the reasons behind the shirt's design.

"He should have worn it when he made this public statement about his violent diarrhea due to drinking poop water," Hill wrote in another post.

The three K's are used as an acronym by the Ku Klux Klan, a white supremacist, far-right organization and hate group that has existed in the United States of America since the 19th century. At the same time, red and white are the two primary colors of the Klan flag.
