The Baltimore Orioles were unquestionably one of the winners of the trade deadline. The American League East leaders were aggressive before the deadline, adding a number of key players who will likely play pivotal roles in the team's postseason run.
Orioles general manager Mike Elias and the rest of the team's front office decided to make a number of trades in order to bolster their roster in a number of different areas. The team added some notable players before the trade deadline passed, including Zach Eflin from the Tampa Bay Rays, Trevor Rogers from the Miami Marlins and Eloy Jimenez from the Chicago White Sox.

"I think that we feel like the team is very reinforced," GM Mike Elias said in an interview on MLB Network Radio. "You don't know what the next couple of months on the injury front," he continued, saying that the team was reminded of that immeadiately after the deadline with Jordan Westburg hitting the IL.
"It wasn't a deadline where big, huge superstar talents were traded," the Orioles GM continued. "I feel happy that we did what we did," he said before stating that he believes that the Zach Eflin trade with the Rays was one of the biggest pitching packages on the market.
The team was one of the most active before the trade deadline and now look poised to make a deep postseason run. Elias reiterated the point that he felt that the team is in a better place after acquiring two starting pitchers, two relief pitchers and two outfield bats.

After years of struggle, the Baltimore Orioles' patience and development has paid off handsomely for the team now owns one of the most promising young cores in the MLB. Thanks to the emergence of stars such as Gunnar Henderson and Adley Rutschman, the O's have become of the most dangerous teams in the majors.

That being said, Baltimore has struggled recently, which proves the trades for Trevor Rogers and Eloy Jimenez could be crucial as the end of the season draws near. As of Thursday, Baltimore sits only 0.5 games ahead of its AL East rivals, the New York Yankees.
