New York Mets shortstop Jose Iglesias has captivated the world with his new single "OMG," released a couple of weeks ago. Iglesias has promoted the music several times at Citi Field, and even a concert was organized on the day of the release. Now he has received an opportunity to promote it on an even grander stage.

Following rumors of MLB landing an invite to the singer to perform at the MLB All-Star Home Run Derby, Iglesias confirmed his participation on Sunday, saying he's thrilled about it.

"Yeah, I'll be in Texas. I'll be performing. I got a privilege to make a few Oscars as a player and now as a singer, so I'm very humble about it. Thank you for the invitation and I'll be heading over after the game," Iglesias said in a post game interaction.

Iglesias' vibe with his "OMG" has reflected in the Mets rejuvenated performance ahead of the All-Star break. Following a worrisome start to the season, the club reached the .500 mark around the time his music was going to be released and now they have been 7-3 in their past 10 games.

Mets' Pete Alonso shares his love for Jose Iglesias' "OMG."

New York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso is excited about another live performance from Jose Iglesias at this year's Derby on Monday.

"Any time we hear the song 'Oh My God' -- and we love hearing it -- there's always been a ton of homers," Alonso said after Sunday's game. "I'm excited for him to perform -- it's great for him. But it's going to be really exciting to have him there."

After Sunday's game Iglesias was asked about the connection of his song coinciding with the team's red-hot form.

"It's fun. When you win, definitely it's fun," Iglesias said. "It's a special energy going around. You can't deny that. We've just got to continue to ride that wave. People are connecting with the energy that is going on right now, and that's what it's all about. It's a long season -- you've got to keep it fun, you've got to keep it loose, you've got to keep it 'Oh My God.'"

It will be a special Monday night for Mets fans with Jose Iglesias' performance ahead of the eight-slugger fest, in which Alonso will eye his third Home Run Derby win.
