For the first time in his career, Boston Red Sox slugger Jarren Duran was named an American League All-Star. He and Rafael Devers were selected to represent the team, which is quite an honor.
The AL starting outfield is stacked. It consists of Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, and Steven Kwan, so Duran will be a reserve during the All-Star Game.
Duran recently discussed what being an All-Star meant to him on MLB Network Radio. He certainly did not hold anything back, saying it meant a lot to him, but he did not want that to go to his head.
"I'm still trying to be proud of myself for being an All-Star and where I'm at. I can't get too excited because I feel like the game will humble me," - said Duran.

Baseball is a tough sport. The instant you think you have things figured out, the game will pull you back and make you feel lost, and Duran understands this completely.
"So, maybe seeing my family will kind of open my eyes that I should be proud of myself for getting this accomplishment, but until I see them, I feel it's just going to be me grinding away" - said Duran.
It does not seem that this has set in for the young outfielder yet, but it could once he sees his family. This is something that has eluded plenty of Major League Baseball players, so he should be extremely proud of himself.

However, players like Jarren Duran have stepped up this year and have Boston in the hunt. They hold a 51-41 record, placing them third in the AL East, 5.5 games behind the Baltimore Orioles.
Through 92 games of action, Duran is hitting .278/.339/473 with an AL-leading 25 doubles and an MLB-leading 10 triples. He and Rafael Devers have carried this team offensively this year.
Boston has been one of the biggest surprise stories of the season, largely thanks to Duran. if they can keep their foot on the gas, they have the chance to be one of the teams making their way to the postseason via the Wild Card.
