Jarren Duran is excited to be a part of the same MLB All-Star team as Aaron Judge. Duran has earned his first career selection and is the third player to have been selected for the All-Star squad from the Boston Red Sox.

Red Sox starting pitcher Tanner Houck and third baseman Rafael Devers were almost a sure shot when it came to being selected for the MLB All-Star game. However, Jarren Duran was quite low on the votes and his position seemed a bit skeptical. Still, he was acknowledged by his peers and is now excited to stand beside Aaron Judge.

Duran made it to the team because of his fourth bWAR ranking (4.7), first ranking in triples (10), second in doubles (24), then second again in defensive runs saved (12), third in hits (103) among all the American League players. Moreover, he can also boast about playing every game for his team this season.

Speaking with ESPN, Jarren Duran explained that he's excited to play alongside Aaron Judge during the All-Star game this year.

"Honestly, I've never stood next to Judge, so I kind of want to see what it's about. Rob always talks about how big of a guy he is, so I might just try and sneak up behind him and see the size difference," Duran said.

Jarren Duran proves his mettle to participate in the All-Star break

Despite being left off the All-Star ballot due to voting limitations, Jarren Duran has etched his name in the team as well as the history books.

He's become the first American League player ever to reach 100 hits, 10 triples, 10 home runs, and 20 stolen bases before the All-Star break. This puts Jarren Duran on the same pedestal as former shortstop José Reyes.

He's even outslugged every other AL outfielder in terms of Win Above Replacement (WAR) except the juggernaut Aaron Judge, who secured a starting All-Star spot through Phase 1 voting.

Early in his career between 2021 and 2022, he struggled to find his footing. He could bat a meager .219 with a low on-base percentage. He showed some improvement in 2023 as he hit .295 with a .828 OPS but appeared in only 102 games.

However, 2024 has been Duran's year as he's marked his presence with his improved performances at the plate and will now share the stage with the current top players.
