Dallas Keuchel's sports broadcaster wife, Kelly Nash, got emotional as the news of the left-hander getting traded to the Milwaukee Brewers broke out. Keuchel had signed a minor-league contract with the Seattle Mariners in May, but they have traded the 2015 AL Cy Young award winner to the Brewers for cash considerations.
Kelly Nash took to Instagram to post a story about Dallas Keuchel's trade news being reported by the MLB. She captioned her story:
"I miss you already"
Keuchel and Kelly Nash started dating each other in 2019 when the former was playing with the Atlanta Braves and Kelly was in her current job of being a sports broadcaster with the MLB Network.
Nash and Dallas got engaged two years later, in March 2021, and exchanged vows in a beautiful wedding affair in January 2022.
Since then, Dallas Keuchel has played with four different ballclubs in the MLB, as the once-first-choice starting pitcher kept getting down on the pecking order with every ballclub.
While Keuchel was spending his playing time with Mariners triple-A affiliates in 2024, he might finally get a chance to pitch in the big leagues, as the Brewers created a vacant spot in the starting rotation after optioning out Carlos Rodriguez to triple-A Nashville.
“I’ve been everywhere in this game. I’ve been at the top, I’ve been at the bottom, I’ve been in between.
"It kind of makes you take a step back and wonder if you still want to do it and still can do it. The whole time, I felt the love of the game and my desire to compete is still there,” said Keuchel
Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy reflected on his intentions after acquiring Dallas Keuchel from the Mariners:
"I don’t know if it will be this week, but you don’t sign him to keep him in the Minor Leagues. We’re not looking for Minor League depth with our pitching situation."
Dallas Keuchel is optimistic in helping the ailing Brewers bullpen in 2024
Dallas has been impressive in the MiLB with the Mariners triple-A affiliate, the Tacoma Rainiers, going 7-4 in 13 starts in 2024.
Keuchel last pitched in an MLB game with the Minnesota Twins in 2023. Reflecting on his pitching abilities and trade deal with the Brewers, Dallas Keuchel said:
"My stuff is as crisp as it's been in a long time, and I think my velo bump has been an eye-opener. It's not like I'm throwing 94 (mph), so don't expect that anytime soon. But the average fastball has been up there to 2018-19. That wasn't intended, but it was my body feeling good and maybe having some clear thoughts and having some joy."
"I've already felt the aura here (Brewers), and it just makes you feel good."
While Dallas Keuchel readies himself to resume pitching in the MLB, his wife, Kelly Nash, will be cheering for her ace husband, as she has been doing so for so many years.
