Trevor Bauer has successfully combined his passion for baseball and playful personality into quality content on his social media pages. Although Bauer has not pitched in MLB since 2021 and remains a polarizing figure due to past sexual assault allegations, he remains a prominent baseball personality online.
As part of a brilliant strategy, Bauer has continually linked up with another major baseball social media personality, Eric Sim, better known as the "King of Juco." In his latest social media post, Bauer rocked a Los Angeles Dodgers jersey while taking live at-bats against Sim.
In the video, Sim takes to the mound to try and strike out Bauer, with both players rocking Dodgers jerseys. Sim is checked out at the beginning to see whether or not he is using a foreign substance to help his efforts on the mound, which he admitted to immediately.
"It's too sticky. I can't control the spider tack," Sim said after missing the strike zone on two straight pitches.
Sim struggled with his pitching, missing the zone for a third consecutive pitch and pushing the count to 3-0. A visibly frustrated Sim yelled at Bauer to start swinging his bat. However, the former All-Star made a point of waiting for the right pitch.
"I don't swing at balls dude. It's called having an approach," Bauer told Sim after pushing the count to 3-0.
Sim missed the zone on five straight pitches, with Bauer winning the at-bat. That being said, Sim received the last laugh as he was able to record a swing-and-miss with an 84 MPH fastball out of the zone.
Trevor Bauer's future in the MLB remains as uncertain as ever
Bauer is coming off an excellent season with the Diablos Rojos del Mexico in the Mexican League. En route to an All-Star selection, championship title and being named the Mexican League Pitcher of the Year, Bauer was simply dominant on the mound.
All that being said, it remains unclear if his successful season will help him land a new MLB contract. Even after being cleared of any criminal wrongdoing tied to the sexual assault allegations made against him, there has been minimal news of bringing him back into the league.
Bauer has shown he still has life left in his pitching arm, but he may join a different foreign league for the 2025 season. After stints in Japan and Mexico, Bauer's pitching future remains uncertain.
