Despite the rumors of being involved with some big names in the hot stove, the Toronto Blue Jays have yet to make a splash signing. Toronto's sole noteworthy acquisition was two-time All-Star and multiple-time Gold Glover Andres Gimenez from the Cleveland Guardians. Another roster move is the signing of pitcher Yimi Garcia for his second stint in Toronto.

In the "Baseball Today" podcast on Monday, Chris Rose and Trevor Plouffe discussed the inaction of the Blue Jays' front office in the past year.

"I don't think Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is going to re-sign," Rose said. (11:08-11:11)

It was widely discussed that Toronto was in the mix in the Corbin Burnes saga. However, Burnes ultimately chose to sign a long-term deal with the Arizona Diamondbacks worth $210 million. Rose lamented the lack of foresight in the Jays' front office, which could ultimately hamper the chances of star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. re-signing.

"The Toronto [Blue Jays] stuff, I don't know what the hell they're doing," Rose said. "I have no idea which direction they're going. They should've traded Vladimir Guerrero Jr. last summer.
"I'm happy Corbin Burnes didn't end up in Toronto."

Toronto Blue Jays extend offer to Hyeseong Kim

Per Sports Illustrated, the Toronto Blue Jays have extended an offer to KBO star Hyeseong Kim. The move comes as another rumor that the team has been involved in this offseason.

Despite missing out on the bigger names, it is a welcome sign that the organization is still trying to bolster its ranks in light of a perceived lack of direction.

Kim is one of the biggest stars to come from the KBO. Known for his blistering speed around the bases, the three-time KBO Gold Glover (an award given to the league's best players) is adept at playing all infield positions.

The Korean star made his debut at the young age of 18 and has lit up the South Korean league ever since. Kim is more known as a contact hitter with career averages of .304/.364/.403 with 37 home runs and 211 stolen bases in eight KBO seasons.

If he does accept an offer from the Jays, he'll likely be positioned at third base to complement Bo Bichette at shortstop, Andres Gimenez at second base and Vladimir Guerrero at first base.
