Walker Buehler's wife, McKenzie Buehler, shared some responses to questions by her followers on social media on Sunday night. One follower asked about the nervy moment when she saw Walker run out of the bullpen to pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning in Game 5 of the World Series to seal the deal for the Dodgers.
McKenzie provided the exact details of her surroundings and her emotions as she sat inside the Yankee Stadium and watched Buehler close the game for the LAD. Her response to the question on social media read:
"@ltlmills922 told me he was running out there and immediately I started shaking and was holding back tears. Finley had just fallen asleep on me so thank goodness I had @caramartinellsmith and @mktaylor808 right behind me to help me stay calm 🤍.

"Needless to say I was very emotional though. He had worked so hard all season and there is something special about seeing him in his element and I wouldn't want anyone else besides my husband in that situation 🤍 "

Buehler pitched in the ninth inning against the Yankees and quickly dispatched three hitters (Volpe, Wells, and Verdugo) to win the game for LAD, 7-6. After winning his second World Series with the Dodgers, Walker Buehler signed a one-year, $21.05 million deal with the Red Sox for the 2025 MLB season.
His wife voiced her feelings about leaving LA and moving to Boston next year. In her response to a social media question, she wrote:
"Very mixed feelings. So sad to be leaving what has become home to us and where we had Finley but also so freaking excited for this next adventure in Boston and to be back on the east coast."
