Veteran pitcher Lance Lynn and his wife Dymin are enjoying their bittersweet time off, with the St. Louis Cardinals pitcher not featuring in the postseason after his team failed to make the playoffs.
Dymin started the podcast 'Dymin in the Rough' with Lance, and the first episode was released on YouTube earlier this week. While the first episode featured Dymin and Lance sharing stories, the second episode will have New York Yankees starter Carlos Rodon and wife Ashley as guests.
Dymin shared a glimpse of the upcoming episode on the podcast's Instagram handle. Lance congratulated Rodon on his performance in the ALCS Game 1 against the Cleveland Guardians. Meanwhile, Dymin asked Rodon if he liked the Yankees' no facial hair policy. Rodon replied with a thumbs-down gesture and pointed toward Lance's beard, saying:
"I want that; that's what I want."
While the Yankees' infamous policy has divided opinions over the years, Lance Lynn said to Rodon on his clean shave look:
"Keeps you looking young though."
Ashley commented on the video:
"Love you both."
Lance Lynn and Carlos Rodon's wives acknowledge the need for sharing their stories
In one of the other clips from the podcast shared on Instagram, Madisyn and Ashley talk about the unheard stories from the careers from Carlos Rodon and Lance Lynn.
"I feel like this is such a great podcast because there are so many of us who have funny stories," Ashley said.
"I know, people need to know the baseball wives," Dymin chimed in.
Ashley felt that the players themselves never share these stories and only hear about them from others.
"The guys can't articulate the funny stories. They normally aren't a super part of them they normally hear about it later."
Dymin also congratulated Ashley for her husband's performance in ALCS Game 1 and said it'd be iconic if they made it to the World Series. Dymin also thanked Ashley for appearing on the podcast with Ashley saying she wouldn't have done it for anyone else.
The New York Yankees did make it to the World Series after Carlos Rodon had another strong outing from the mound in the series as the Bronx Bombers clinched the AL Pennant. The Yankees will face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the Fall Classic.
