Recently inducted into the Oakland Athletics Hall of Fame, Jose Canseco isn't quite done with Alex Rodriguez. After previously making damning allegations against Alex Rodriguez for cheating with his ex-wife Jessica while the former Yankees star was with Jennifer Lopez, Canseco has made sure to call out A-Rod on social media platforms.
On Thursday, Canseco invited A-Rod to participate in the Home Run Derby to be held on October 5th at the Marlins’ Loan Depot Park. Participating himself, Canseco took a sarcastic jab at A-Rod through his tweet:
"Alex Rodriguez I expect you to compete in the Home Run Derby in Miami If you don’t, we all know why," he wrote in his tweet.
However, Alex Rodriguez hasn't responded to his challenge, as is the case with all his previous ones, including the A's HOFer once challenging him for a boxing bout.
The origins of the beef between Jose Canseco and A-Rod stem after the former made damning allegations in a series of tweets.
"Alex Rodriguez stop being a piece of sh-t stop cheating on Jennifer Lopez," he wrote. "Watching World of Dance watching J.Lo text Alex Rodriguez little does she know that he is cheating on her with my ex-wife Jessica poor girl she has no idea who he really is."
"I was there a few months back with her when he called her on her phone," he added. "Alex Rodriguez I challenge you to a boxing match or an MMA match anytime you want. I am willing to take a polygraph to prove that what I'm saying about Alex Rodriguez is 100% accurate."
Jose Canseco goes one step ahead in his allegations against Alex Rodriguez
Till now, Jose Canseco has only alleged that Alex Rodriguez cheated his former partner, Jennifer Lopez, with Jessica. However, in an interaction with "The Schmo," Canseco took one step ahead with his allegations.
"I do have a beef with him. I've had a beef with him since he hit on my wife—since he went after my wife right in front of me. When he was just a kid in our gym, he said, 'Oh my God, that's the most beautiful woman I've ever seen,' out loud, and I heard him. I've had a beef since then," Canseco said on the podcast (4:23 onwards).
"A good friend of mine heard through the grapevine that he's gone after other players' wives too because he's narcissistic. He thinks his stuff doesn't stink, and he respects no one."
Apart from cheating claims, Jose Canseco was also surprised when he didn't find Alex Rodriguez's name in the 2007 Mitchell Report, which covered many athletes using performance-enhancing drugs.
Rodriguez has so far avoided responding to any claims Canseco has made in the past.
