After reports emerged that the Houston Astros are looking to trade Kyle Tucker, Cincinnati Reds Hall of Famer Sean Casey believes that he would be the perfect fit for the New York Yankees.
The outfielder has one year left on his contract and has reportedly attracted a lot of interest for a trade over the Winter Meetings this week. While speaking on "The Mayor's Office with Sean Casey" podcast Thursday, Casey said the Yankees must look at Tucker as the best option after losing out on Juan Soto, claiming that the Astros star is a more complete player who would complement Aaron Judge.
"He is not far off from Juan Soto. He's mid-.900 OPS, hits for power, steals bases, plays great defence. He's a better all-round player probably than Soto," Casey said.
"If you got a guy like Kyle Tucker, you would not miss Juan Soto as much as you do right now. It would give protection to Judge in that 2-3 hole," he added.

Kyle Tucker started his major league career with the Houston Astros in 2018 and is now a proven all-round player who has been with them throughout his career. According to reports from the MLB Winter Meeting earlier this week, the Astros are considering a trade for the outfielder, who has attracted interest from the Bronx Bombers.
The ex-Yankees coach further added that the club traded for Juan Soto last year in hopes of signing a long-term contract. However, that did not come to fruition as they lost the Dominican to free agency despite having traded five players for him ahead of the season.
Looking at Tucker as a backup option after losing out on Soto, Casey believes that he is the best choice out there to partner alongside Judge.
MLB insider reports Philadelphia Phillies have discussed a trade for Kyle Tucker with Astros
After the MLB Winter Meetings earlier this week, the latest reports suggest the Houston Astros might trade Kyle Tucker in the next 48 hours. This news led to two top contenders for the outfielder: the Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees.
