Houston Astros star closer Josh Hader has been fairly decent so far in his maiden campaign at Minute Maid Park. Besides his performances for the ballclub, he has also started a charity program termed 'Hader's Heart Visit', where he would spend time and interact with young kids battling cancer.

In the first monthly Hader's Heart visit, he spent time with ten foster kids from the Bear Houston Foundation at Minute Maid Park. The initiative is a part of the Astros Foundation.

Here's a look at some of the images from Josh Hader's initiative, which were captioned by Astros' social media handles as:

"Hader’s Heart. Today, Josh Hader held his first monthly Hader’s Heart visit, where he spent time with 10 foster kids from @bearhouston during batting practice."

Bear Houston is a non-profit organization that helps children at-risk and CPS-involved, along with their caretakers, in the Greater Houston Area of Texas. Hader has been highly active both on and off the field since making his blockbuster move to the Astros this past offseason.

The 30-year-old relief pitcher is a five-time All-Star, who was also the NL saves leader in 2020 during his six-year stint with the Milwaukee Brewers. Josh played for the San Diego Padres for two seasons before opting for free agency.

The Houston Astros came calling for one of the most potent closes in the game during the offseason and signed him to a five-year, $95 million deal. Hader has only registered 20 saves this season with an ERA of 4.11, 72 strikeouts, and 1.00 WHIP.

Josh is actively involved in charity work and philanthropy and has been doing so since he made his MLB debut with the Brewers in 2017.

Josh Hader has been involved with many charities over the course of his career in the MLB

Josh Hader was involved with many charities during his playing time in Milwaukee. Some of these philanthropic organisations were as follows: Brewers Community Foundation, Athletes's Brand, MLF Foundation, C.A.S.T. For Kids, Fisher House Wisconsin, USO Milwaukee, and Milwaukee VA Medical Center.

He also took active role with the Padres Foundation during his two-year stint at Petco Park and was heavily involved with fundraising events therein. Now, he has started his maiden philanthropic venture in Houston, which is a part of the Astros Foundation.
