It's the wedding season for Kansas City Royals stars as shortstop and AL MVP finalist Bobby Witt Jr., who's set to marry his fiancee Maggie Black next month, attended the wedding of teammate and second baseman Michael Massey, who tied the knot with Jane DeJarld on Nov. 23 in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico.
Among the many Royals stars featured in the wedding, Witt and his soon-to-be wife Maggie turned heads with their outfits. On Sunday, Maggie shared glimpses from the wedding, saying:
"Too many margaritas & too much fun celebrating The Massey’s!!🍹🌴"
Maggie wore a halter-style satin midi dress in a deep bronze or brown shade. She accessorized it with neutral-toned strappy heels, a bracelet and her engagement ring.
Meanwhile, Bobby Witt Jr. chose a formal look, wearing a light blue tailored suit jacket and matching pants. He paired it with white sneakers and sunglasses.
Bobby Witt Jr.'s fiancee Maggie Black reflects on 2024 season
It was a season to cherish for the Witt family. The year started with an engagement news followed by Bobby Witt Jr.'s proposal made on Christmas Eve to Maggie Black. It comes after a strong relationship that was in place since their time in Colleyville High School.
It followed an incredible 2024 season put together by the Royals shortstop, leading the team to the postseason. He won the AL batting title, batting .332 on the season on top of a 30-30 season (32 home runs and 31 stolen bases). Although the Royals fell short to the New York Yankees in the ALCS, Witt captured the limelight a couple of weeks ago during the MLB awards announcement.
After earning his first All-Star call-up in July, Witt was named to All-MLB First Team, won the Gold Glove Award (2024) and a Silver Slugger Award, and was runner-up in the AL MVP, which was won by Aaron Judge.
Encapsulating these memories from the Kauffman Stadium was his fiancee Maggie Black, who posted a heartwarming message:
"THE BEST yet, not just because of the success but because of the memories & friendships created. I tried to encompass all the FUN and JOY this season brought us. Getting to know these ladies and their families is truly the BEST PART of baseball life," she wrote in caption.
"Bobby, I am so proud of you. You impress me everyday not only with your work ethic and determination, but being the person you are off the field. Rooting for you always #7!!"
Bobby Witt Jr. and Maggie are set to tie the knot on Dec. 14.
