After the Kansas City Royals' season ended in the ALDS, Bobby Witt Jr.'s fiancee, Maggie Black, has been enjoying a girls' trip to Miami. She took to Instagram on Sunday, sharing snaps from Day 2 of her fun-filled getaway.
Also on the trip were Bobby Witt Jr.'s older sisters, Nikki, Kianna and Shaley. With the couple all set to tie the knot in December, the getaway proved to be a good way for the Witt sisters to spend some quality time with their soon-to-be sister-in-law.
Bobby Witt Jr. has been extremely close with his sisters through his childhood. With Bobby Witt Sr. having played 16 seasons in the major leagues, the sisters playing softball as they grew up, and Bobby Jr. making a career in baseball, the sport runs deep in the family (via MLB.com).
It appears Maggie Black fits right in with the baseball family and has often been spotted watching Royals games with Bobby Jr.'s sisters at Kauffman Stadium.
The 2024 season proved to be a notable one for Witt Jr.'s Royals. After finishing second in the AL wildcard standings and getting the better of the Baltimore Orioles in their first playoff series, the Royals were ultimately eliminated by eventual pennant winners the New York Yankees. Witt Jr. secured the AL batting title (.332 batting average).
Bobby Witt Jr. to marry Maggie Black in December
Following a big leap in his performance on the diamond, Bobby Witt Jr. is set to take a massive step in his personal life. Shortly before Christmas in 2023, Witt Jr. announced his engagement with his girlfriend via a post on Instagram. The couple is set to marry in December 2024.
Both Bobby and Maggie are natives of Colleyville, Texas. They attended Colleyville Heritage High School, where they first met. Eventually, they started dating and have been together ever since.
The two also share a common passion for baseball, as Black also played third base and shortstop for the Northwestern State University of Louisiana, where she pursued a B.Sc. in health and exercise.
