Kansas City Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. will tie the knot with his longtime partner Maggie Black on Dec. 14. While the star shortstop had a great season that saw him winning the batting title in the American League, his upcoming wedding has gotten his sisters excited.
Witt got down on one knee last Christmas, and the couple announced their engagement in January. In July, both appeared on the 2024 MLB All-Star red carpet.
With just over a month remaining until their wedding, Bobby Wiit Jr.'s sisters Nikki, Kianna and Shaley are already getting to know their soon-to-be sister-in-law better. On Friday, the trio, along with Maggie, went for a getaway in Miami and enjoyed the sunny beaches.
Black shared glimpses of their trip on Instagram. Witt's sisters can be seen cheering for the soon-to-be bride.
"Celebrating the most beautiful bride to be," Black captioned.
Bobby Witt Jr. gave major props to his "four moms": Mother Laurie and three elder sisters
While the Kansas City shortstop learned about the game from his father, his mother Laurie and three sisters gave him important life lessons and never let him feel alone ever.
Growing up, Witt was part of a tight-knit family and his sisters share a close bond with him. During the MLB's Players’ Weekend festivities in August, he was asked who helped him get to this point of his life and career and he gave his appreciation for his “four moms.”
“They always pushed me to want to be the best I possibly can be,” Witt said. "And then they're always there for me to comfort me whenever I need it.”
During July's All-Star weekend in Dallas, the MLB Network interviewed his sisters and all of them adored and appreciated him for staying humble despite being a bona fide star in the league.
“It’s funny, because he’s definitely grown and gotten bigger,” Shaley said. “But to me, he still just has that little kid’s face. … He is a man now, but, personality-wise, he hasn’t changed much, which I think is just incredible with everything that’s come with all his accomplishments and accolades. He’s still just my little kid dorky brother that I’ve always known.”
With the wedding getting closer, Bobby Witt Jr. is rest assured knowing his sisters are fond of his soon-to-be wife Maggie Black.
