Bryce Harper's wife Kayla could not have asked for a better September. The Harper family had a lot to celebrate and Kayla's latest Instagram post highlighted it all.
The Philadelphia Phillies star had a lot to celebrate this year. First, in April, Kayla gave birth to the couple's second daughter and third child, Kamryn Rae Harper. Second, the former NL MVP led the Phillies to their first NL East division title since 2011.
On Wednesday, Kayla posted photos to showcase how they bided their time in September. The post involved game day photos, Harper enjoying with her newborn daughter, his son Krew trying his hand at hitting baseball, and their daughter Brookyl embracing her sister and enjoying at a zoo.
"september was good to us 🍁" Kayla wrote in caption.
Bryce Harper checks in on Freddie Freeman's son while highlighting importance of family
Freddie Freeman's son Max survived a huge health scare. He was paralyzed in late July, leading to his being admitted to the hospital, where, through subsequent tests, it was revealed that Max had a rare neurological disorder, Guillain-Barré syndrome.
The MLB fraternity came together, sending wishes for the well-being of Max. Harper checked in with Freeman personally, giving him the required support amid a difficult period.
“Whenever you hear about somebody's kids or anybody that's going through something, there's nothing more important than having healthy children,” Harper said. "There's a lot of things in life that you wish you want, but the biggest thing is making sure your family is healthy.
“I was checking on him, obviously,” Harper added. “It's so much bigger than the game is, and I love Freddie as a human being, as a person, and his whole family, Chelsea and all of his kids. He's a good person, I just wanted to make sure he was OK. Check in on Max too.”
For Bryce Harper, October presents the opportunity to get one accolade to his already Hall of Fame-worthy resume. The former Washington Nationals slugger will look forward to adding a World Series ring with the Phillies poised to make a deep postseason run this season.
