Chicago Cubs outfielder Cody Bellinger spent quality time reconnecting with family over the Fourth of July weekend. In a series of pictures uploaded by Bellinger's fiancee, Chase Carter, the slugger had summer fun with his two daughters, Cy, 2, and Caiden, 4.
Since Bellinger's Cubs were playing a home series against the Philadelphia Phillies, the 28-year-old marked the national celebration closer to home and even enjoyed a water balloon fight with his daughters.
A native of the Bahamas, Chase Carter began modeling in her early teens and quickly established herself in the industry. She and Cody Bellinger have been dating since mid-2020 and they got engaged in July 2023.
A former Rookie of the Year and MVP with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Bellinger was released by his former team after hitting a meager .193 over 2021 and 2022. Before the 2023 season, the Cubs decided to take a chance on the star and inked him to a one-year, $30 million deal with a club option for 2024.
Cody Bellinger and Chase Carter embrace parenthood together
Bellinger and Carter rely on each other to be the best parents possible. The Cubs star told PEOPLE:
“I think being a good dad trumps all. Everyone says being a dad is the most important thing, my girlfriend feels it; she's growing in her stomach so she has that connection with it. I'm just there for the support, making sure she feels alright.”
Currently, Bellinger is on a three-year, $80 million contract with the Cubs. Although he has opt-outs in place in case he wants to get paid better, only time will tell if he goes for it.
