In Photos: Corey Seager's wife Madisyn enjoys action-packed 'girls weekend' filled with fun & laughter

Corey Seager's wife Madisyn had quite the weekend with her dog and her friends. The star player's better half shared a series of Instagram photos detailing everything they were up to, and it amounted to quite a few days.

In one photo, the girls were at a Morgan Wallen concert. In another, they were decked out in nice clothes enjoying the green grass. Of course, they also attended a baseball game. Drinks, cotton candy and more were had as everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

The shortstop's wife said:

"It was a girls weekend for the books."

While Seager is currently working to keep the Rangers' playoff hopes alive, his wife is having a grand time with her friends.

Corey Seager keeping Texas Rangers alive

That the defending World Series champions are three games under .500 at the MLB Trade Deadline would normally imply a totally lost season. The Texas Rangers are 52-55, a shocking fall from a world championship just a few months ago.

However, their season is not quite lost. In fact, they're still very much alive. The AL West has been a surprisingly bad division this year, and despite all their struggles, the Rangers are just 3.5 games out of first place.

With some healthy players coming back (like Max Scherzer and eventually Jacob deGrom), there is enough hope in Texas that things can get better. Corey Seager is a big part of that.

He's been very solid this year despite starting on the Injured List. The star shortstop is hitting at a 130 wRC+ and has a 2.8 fWAR, which is among the league leaders. He's been a good defender at a premium position as well, so he's been one of the Rangers' most important players.

If they are to close this surprisingly small gap on the Houston Astros and Seattle Mariners, then Seager is going to play a big role. He only needs to continue his current form, but his health and level of play are going to make or break their season since they can't ill-afford a slump right now.
