Special days ask for special celebration and the Swanson couple baked a delicious sweet to celebrate Thanksgiving. Dansby Swanson and his wife, Mallory, will have a lot of reasons to celebrate this offseason.
The soccer star is coming off an Olympic gold with Team United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics. It was the fifth gold for USWNT, thanks in major part to Mallory who scored the decisive goal in the 57th minute of the Olympics final against Brazil to win the game 1-0.
On Wednesday, Mallory shared what she was preparing for this holiday season. She shared two images: "Before" and "After" of three homemade pies in blue pie dishes.
The top left pie has a decorative crust with cut-out heart shapes and a border made of heart-shaped dough. In the "After" image, the heart-shaped crust browned beautifully.
The top-right pie has a lattice-style crust made of woven dough strips. Finally, the bottom pie appears to be an apple pie with visible slices of apples and a simple folded-over crust around the edges. In the "After" image, the apple pie's filling looked caramelized, with a nicely browned, rustic edge
Dansby Swanson pays tribute after Mallory Swanson's Olympic gold and 100 caps feat
The Olympic gold medal game against Brazil was the all more special for Mallory Swanson since it was also her 100th national appearance in a soccer game for the USA. Moreover, after missing the FIFA World Cup final due to ligament tear, not only she made a comeback but she also led the team with four goals and two assists in the tournament.
After the win, Chicago Cubs shortstop Dansby Swanson posted a photo of Mallory and celebrated her achievement with a heartwarming caption:
"God is so good. Always and forever. You are such an inspiration to so many, but more to me than anyone can ever fathom. Your faith in God’s plan, gratitude in life, the grace and joy in which you live and play, the perseverance to fight through whatever obstacles thrown your way.
"You are truly a gift from above, and you shine with that every day. I’m speechless. And now you’re a gold medal, Olympic champion, and 100 caps in the same day. And that can never be taken from you. I love you forever ❤️."
Mallory also reflected on her year showing gratitude to fans a week ago, sharing:
"Not the way we wanted to end but I am so thankful for all these moments this year. And BIG thank you to the fans for the continuous support! ♥️"
It seems the pie Mallory is making for this Thanksgiving is for her husband Dansby Swanson to thank him for the support.
