Dansby Swanson's wife, Mallory Swanson, along with her U.S. national teammates, won gold medal in soccer at the recently concluded Paris Olympics after defeating Brazil 1-0 in the finals. This was the team's fifth gold in the event and its first since 2012 London Games.

On Saturday, Mallory shared behind-the-scenes "unseen bits" from her time in Paris with the USWNT. This involved her sharing the camera alongside Trinity Rodman, Rose Lavelle, Peyton Josephy, Megan Massey and Sophia Smith.

At this year's Summer Games, Mallory Swanson led the team with four goals and two assists. Sophia Smith and Trinity Rodman each contributed with three goals and an assist. Team France's forward Marie-Antoinette Katoto led all scorers in the tournament with five goals.

Dansby Swanson's tribute to gold medal winner Mallory Swanson

The Chicago Cubs shortstop was filled with immense pride following his wife's Olympic triumph. He took to social media, sharing a photo of her. He wrote in the caption:

"God is so good. Always and forever. You are such an inspiration to so many, but more to me than anyone can ever fathom. Your faith in God’s plan, gratitude in life, the grace and joy in which you live and play, the perseverance to fight through whatever obstacles thrown your way.
"You are truly a gift from above, and you shine with that every day. I’m speechless. And now you’re a gold medal, Olympic champion, and 100 caps in the same day. And that can never be taken from you. I love you forever ❤️"

This is quite a redemption journey for Team USA and particularly for Mallory Swanson. She missed out on participation in the 2023 FIFA World Cup owing to an injury she suffered just ahead of the event. In her absence, the USWNT bowed out in the Round of 16 against Sweden.

Swanson is only 26 and has more important events to look forward to. As for her husband's team, the Cubs have a tough task ahead to qualify for the postseason, with the team currently sporting a 61-63 record.
