New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter has capped off another successful year as a baseball analyst. The Hall of Famer joined FOX Sports as a pundit in 2023 and is the latest addition to the now-famous analyst desk of the network alongside Kevin Burkhardt, Matt Vasgersian, former teammate Alex Rodriguez and Boston Red Sox legend David Ortiz.
Just two years into his new job, "The Captain" got the privilege of watching his former team play in the World Series — the club's first appearance since it won in 2009.
On his Instagram account, Jeter shared a recap of his postseason experience as an analyst along with the people he interacted with.
The Hall of Fame shortstop was seen chatting with the New York Yankees' 16th captain, Aaron Judge, who took up Jeter's place as club leader in 2022.
Jeter also shared a lighthearted moment with Los Angeles Dodgers star Mookie Betts. After LA's Game 2 victory, Betts stopped by the FOX desk and told the Yankees legend:
"I know you don't like us now but I love you too."
He then gently tapped Jeter's shoulder and drew laughs from Burkhardt, Rodriguez, Ortiz and Freddie Freeman, who was being interviewed at the time.
The Yankees legend was also photographed with Hall of Fame manager Joe Torre. The two won four World Series titles together, including a three-peat from 1998 to 2000.
Finally, another noteworthy moment in Jeter's recap was a photo with tennis legend Billie Jean King. The Long Beach native is a die-hard Dodgers fan and often attends their games.
Derek Jeter throws out first pitch
Former Yankees captain Derek Jeter made his triumphant return at Yankee Stadium not only as a baseball pundit but also as a ceremonial first pitcher. Ahead of World Series Game 3 on Oct. 28, the legend threw out the ceremonial first pitch to utility player Oswaldo Cabrera.
Additionally, Jeter walked out to the mound to late New York Yankees public address announcer Bob Sheppard's introduction.
