Ian Happ won his third successive Gold Glove Award on Nov. 3, and he went to New York to receive the honor accompanied by his wife, Julie Mazur, and mother, Mary Beth Happ. The Chicago Cubs outfielder shared snippets from their time in the Big Apple on his Instagram.
On Sunday, Happ posted images from the couple's evening from the award ceremony, with a caption that read:
"few days in the big apple"
Happ shared seven pictures in total, with the first one being an adorable one of him with Julie. The Cubs star was in a Tuxedo while his wife wore a stunning brown dress that turned heads. Two other snaps of the duo wearing the same attire were also in the carousel, one with Happ's mom, Mary Beth Happ.
The Instagram post also featured a solo snap of Happ and another one featuring the Cubs star and his wife in casual attire.
Happ's teammate Jameson Taillon, mother-in-law Sandy and sister-in-law Lisa reacted to the Cubs outfielder's social media post.
"🐶" - Taillon wrote.
"Congratulations Ian !! Beautiful picture of my daughter and sweet son in law ❤️❤️" - Sandy posted.
"Solid" - Lisa reacted with a GIF
As for Happ's 2024 season, his Cubs missed a postseason appearance by six wins. However, he had his best year in terms of home runs and RBIs. His 86 RBIs were two more than his previous best in 2023. He hit 25 homers in 2024, having achieved the feat in 2021.
Ian Happ celebrates 1 year of marriage with Julie Mazur
Ian Happ married his wife Julie Mazur on Nov. 18, 2023. Last week, Happ looked back on his wedding day as he shared snaps from the event. In the four images shared by the Cubs star, his wife looked elegant in white bridal wear. Happ's black outfit complemented his spouse's attire.
"one year 🤍," Happ captioned the post
Funnily enough, Ian Happ overcame obstacles during his wedding day, which he shared on episode 29 of "On Base with Mookie Betts." After the wedding in the church, a lights parade in Michigan seemed to have blocked the reception. However, fellow MLB stars Anthony Rizzo and Kyle Schwarber's timely intervention meant everything went smoothly.
