Cleveland Guardians first baseman Josh Naylor had a solid 2024 season. The 27-year-old crossed the 30-home run mark for the season, hitting the ball out of the park on 31 occasions while being as reliable as anyone in defensive situations.
The Guardians star had his girlfriend, Chantel Collado, offering her whole-hearted support throughout the season. After announcing their engagement in the summer of 2023, the couple are set to tie the knot soon.
On Sunday, Chantel Collado took to Instagram to post a series of snaps with her fiancé, all smiles with their wedding fast approaching.
"Our pre wedding bliss✨" Chantel Collado captioned her Instagram Story.
Both Naylor and Collado attended the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Secondary School in Ontario, Canada.
Collado is quite an accomplished musician. The 26-year-old boasts more than 127,000 active listeners on the popular music streaming platform Spotify, with her top track, "Mentiras Baratas", having more than 64,000 streams. She also has upwards of 33,000 followers on Instagram.
Josh Naylor's fiancé Chantel Collado reflects on career-best 2024 season
The 2024 MLB season was arguably the best of Josh Naylor's career. Owing to consistent solid performances day in, day out, Stephen Vogt's team made it to the ALCS for the first time since 2016, and Naylor earned his first-ever All-Star nod.
Eventually, though, the AL Central champions met their match when they faced the eventual World Series runners up the New York Yankees in the battle to win the pennant.
As the curtain fell on their season, Josh Naylor's wife-to-be took to Instagram in late October to reflect on what had been the "most memorable season" of their lives so far.
"Josh, I am so proud of you and all of your accomplishments this year. You are the definition of perseverance, resilience, determination, discipline and each of those things have all led you to the most memorable season yet. Keep shining baby, I will always be by your side cheering you on with the rest of our families 🤍🥺, " Chantel Collado captioned her Instagram post.
Though the disappointing note the season ended on will sting for a while, Josh Naylor can afford to take his mind off the field for the time being, as he looks forward to his fast-approaching wedding.
The focus shifts back to baseball in the new year, with spring training beginning in early February, as Naylor and co. look to follow up the fine work of 2024 with yet more winning baseball.
