Former MLB player Jose Canseco's daughter, Josie, has had an affinity towards fashion and modelling since a young age. Her interests in the field helped her become a successful model, and she's now tied up with some of the best brands and fashion magazines in America.

She shares her fashion outfits on social media and loves to enthrall her followers by sharing routines from her daily life. In her latest post, she shared a series of images from a fashion awards night in New York City where she wore a sleek and elegant black asymmetrical dress.

Josie started her career in the modelling and fashion industry after she received the breakthrough nod to feature in the well-reputed LOVE magazine. The success of that shoot brought many opportunities to her doorstep. One of them was to walk the ramp as a Victoria's Secret angel in their New York fashion show in 2018.

Two years before walking for the VS, she featured as the cover girl for two top magazines, the Sports Illustrated Issue 2016 and the Playboy's June 2016 issue, where she was the Playmate of the Month. Starting her career at just 17 helped Josie sign with some of the top fashion brands in America.

Money wasn't something that came easy for her, though, as Jose Canseco had filed for bankruptcy in 2012 after blowing up all his savings. Josie worked by herself and struggled to get to where she's today.

Her father, Jose Canseco, had married Jessica Canseco in August 1996, and a little over two months later, Josie was born, in November 1996. The wedding was marred with underlying tension and turmoil, though, which led to the duo parting ways in 1999.

A topsy-turvy childhood meant that Josie had to become self-sustaining very early on in life. That helped her become a very hands-on decision-taker in her modelling career.

In an exclusive interview with Harper's Bazaar Vietnam edition, the model reflected on the decision-making aspect of her life and how that helped her become independent and sustain herself well in a highly competitive industry. She said:

"I’m extremely hands on with everything I do, and I think that comes from being on my own a lot as a kid. It’s hard to let people dictate what’s best for me when I’ve always had to run my own ship, but I’m very lucky to have an amazing team of people that guide my decision making.

"I’ve learned to be more trusting and open minded to a group effort on work and life choices, but I ultimately will pull the chord on anything that doesn’t feel authentic to me."

Despite the couple parting ways very early on in their relationship, Jose Canseco and Jessica agreed to co-parent their daughter, who's now a successful model in the fashion industry.
